    Festival Committee

    The Festival Committee is the body responsible for the annual organisation of the São João de Sobrado Festivities. Composed of volunteer stewards from the parish, the committee is renewed each year.

    The committee works throughout the year preparing the festival, which culminates on 24 June, Saint John's Day.

    The committee's responsibilities range from logistical organisation of the festive programme to fundraising and sponsorships.

    Responsibilities

    Religious Programme

    Organisation of religious ceremonies, including solemn mass and procession.

    Logistics

    Stage assembly, lighting, sound and support infrastructure.

    Fundraising

    Collections, raffles, ticket sales and sponsorship acquisition.

    Promotion

    Festival promotion through posters, social media and press.

    Cultural Programme

    Organisation of concerts, food stalls and recreational activities.

    Handover

    Passing the baton to the following year's committee and accounts reporting.

    Note: The Festival Committee works in close collaboration with the São João de Sobrado Association (Comissão de Festas), which provides institutional and logistical support.
